Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum Grade 10 (authentic school report) or NQF Level 2

  • Valid Code 10 (C1) driver’s license with PDP permit

  • At least 5 years driving experience

  • Knowledge of government fleet and transport policies is an advantage

  • Ability to manage time, adhere to schedules, and handle confidential information

  • Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work in a team under pressure

  • Knowledge of Batho Pele Principles, Patients’ Rights, and 6 ministerial priorities

  • Willingness to work shifts, night duties, weekends, and public holidays


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate vehicles according to government procedures and trip authorities

  • Complete vehicle logbooks as per legislation/policy

  • Inspect vehicles and report defects for timely repairs

  • Check levels of fuel, oil, tires, and water of vehicles

  • Ensure safe transport of staff and patients

  • Perform messenger and registry functions

  • Assist with loading and offloading goods

  • Promote proper handling, safekeeping, and control of vehicles

  • Carry out other duties as instructed by the supervisor
