Experience and qualifications

• Matric 

• Diploma in Travel/Hospitality/Tourism 

• Amadeus experience, minimum of 4 years 

• 6 years travel experience 

• Previous concierge (or similar) experience advantage 

• 5 Star/Elite customer relations 

• Supervisor experience 

• Leisure travel background 

• Sales and marketing experience

Additional requirements

  • Minimum requirement: National Diploma in Travel or similar
  • Fully Bilingual – English (Read, Write and Speak) and Afrikaans (Preferable – Read, Write and Speak)
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience within the Travel industry
  • 10 years GDS experience with strong command of Galileo GDS
  • Previous travel concierge (or similar), leisure and corporate experience, focusing on VIP/UHNW clients an advantage
  • A passion for travel and delivering service excellence
  • Ability to multi-task within a high-pressured environment
  • Creative problem solver and good organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently (work from home environment, remote or office/s as required)

  • Provide information on (but not limited to) travel, facilities and services, events and attractions, tours, travel routes and transportation schedules
  • Facilitate the quoting and booking of all travel arrangements, travel appointments where required, special reservations where required, special requests, for complex itineraries
  • Organize extra’s for VIP client or special occasions (“Surprises and Delights”)
  • Creative flair and ability to tailor make “high touch” luxury travel packages working directly with suppliers with the ability to execute concepts through to completion
  • Source travel products and information for upmarket clients
  • Trustworthy, discrete and sensitive to clients’ needs at all times

responsibilities

• Source travel products and information for up market clients and organize extra’s for VIP client or special occasions (“Surprises and Delights”) 

• Build relationships and rapport with your customers and maintain good relationships with suppliers to be able to provide customers with excellent customer service and always go the extra mile 

• Provide information on facilities and services, events and attractions, tours, travel routes, transportation schedules and advising clients on travel information, e.g. visas, passports, itineraries, currency, language, safety, health, etc 

• Achieve monthly targets set out by your manager by maximizing on sales opportunities, promoting destinations, tour packages and other services 

• Arranging all travel related queries from flight bookings to travel insurance and deal with complaints by working alongside the Leadership Team to resolve complaints 

• Arrange and Issue airline/other tickets, arrange bookings, appointments and reservations for customers and process payments from clients by paying suppliers, to obtain confirmation documentation 

• Shop on behalf of the customer on the eBucks Online Shopping 

• Counsel clients on terms and conditions of travel, e.g. cancellation policies and assist with after hour emergency duty 

• Come up with new initiatives and creative ideas for this desk 

• Manage own development to increase own competencies 

• Plan and manage performance, skills development, employment equity, talent and culture of Team Leaders and teams in order to improve innovation, achieve efficiencies and increase competencies
